Battery Installation (Cont.)

• Install the top bracket at the left side of the battery. Before tightening the

mounting screws, slide the bracket and battery fully to the right. When the

foam pads are compressed, tighten the mounting screws.

• Tighten the mounting screws of the center bracket.

• After tightening all mounting screws, check that the battery is held tightly in

place. Readjust the brackets if needed.

Cable Installation

With the battery secured and the Recharge PC board mounted, the final

connections can be made.

• Connect the 3-wire cable coming from the battery to connector J1 on the

Recharge PC board. See Figure 1.

• Using the 9-wire cable assembly supplied in the kit, connect J2 on the

Recharge PC board to connector J3 on the Main PC board.

• Using the cable tie supplied in the kit, secure the 8-wire cable to the plastic

mount at the bottom of the housing. Be sure to leave adequate cable length

at each side of the mount before tightening the tie. See Figure 1.

CAUTION: The newly installed battery may have a partial charge, if the unit

powers on before final reassembly, press and hold the ON/ZERO

OFF

button

until OFF is shown.

Reassembly

• Check that no wires or cabling will be pinched when the two housing

sections are closed

• Lift the front housing section back into place over the rear housing section.

• Replace the 4 side screws*.

*Note: It may be necessary to apply a moderate clamping pressure to the two

housing halves while replacing the side screws. This pressure compresses a

rubber gasket and insures the proper water tight seal for the housing.
